Stress can be a good thing. Causes attention when needed and prepares us to respond immediately to danger. Everyone feels stress from time to time, but the constant stress can adversely affect your health. According to several sources, 75 to 90 percent of all visits to the doctor can be attributed to stress-related illnesses.
When the brain is constantly under the influence of strong stress hormone, may result in damage and death of brain cells. Some patients who suffer from chronic stress have problems with long-term memory. Stress can cause emotional disturbances and contributes to a multitude of diseases, including the following:
- reduced function of the brain and loss of memory
- heart problems
- high blood pressure
- insomnia and sleep problems
- skin problems
Make a list of all the things you do every day, what you have to do yourself and what you can delegate to others. It is important to create a balance. Try not to make everything yourself. More everyday responsibilities means more stress. Decide that you will dedicate yourself. This does not mean that you ignore their obligations, this means that you will not neglect yourself. Assess how you feel and that you have managed to reduce the high levels of anxiety and stress.
Stay focused on the current situation. Do not think about what you need in a few weeks, months or years. Solve tasks one by one. If you feel that an overwhelming stress and you do not know what to do with themselves of tension, stop! Focus on slow breathing that will help you stay calm, think clearly, and you can decide well. Take responsibility for your words, attitude and actions.
Take some time each day for the release of stress accumulated during the day. Leave quiet music and focus on your breathing. Let the tension leave your body with each exhalation.
