The study of American scientists reveals that if you exercise at least 150 minutes a week, you will sleep much better and you will be less likely to feel sleepy during the day.
The research conducted on more than 2,600 men and women aged 18 to 85, it was found that 150 minutes per week of moderate to intense activity, provides extraordinary 65% improvement in sleep quality.
Participants, who are regularly practiced, have reported that they felt less drowsy during the day, compared with those who rarely or never exercise.
After taking into account age, body mass index, health status, smoking and depression, scientists have concluded that the risk of having to sleep during the day was significantly lower in participants who regularly practiced. Namely, the need for sleeping during the day to reduce by as much as 65%.
Similar results were obtained for the risk of leg cramps during sleep. People who exercise regularly have a 68% lower risk of spasms during sleep.
This is not the first study to show that physical activity has a positive effect on sleep quality, as well as to reduce the need for sleep during the day.
